For our first outing of 2024 we will be repeating a 3½ mile stroll at Gargrave, following in the footsteps of the walk Donald led us on in 2019. This comes as a timely opportunity for us to remember Donald, and celebrate the
wonderful contribution he made to our group over many years.
The route takes us along the Leeds and Liverpool Canal to Bank Newton Locks for the lunch stop. There is one stile. Then over the fields to join the Pennine Way back to Gargrave. There is always the option to double back on the ca-nal if you don't fancy the fields. There may be mud and wet grass, strong boots recommended. Dress for the day's weather. There are toilets and cafes in Gargrave for the start and end of the day.
