Task Reports

Our first visit of the year to this well loved site, we will be using traditional tools scythes, sickles, hay rakes and pitchforks to cut back areas of bracken to help increase the plant biodiversity of the moor.

Making improvements in the nature area, we will be constructing steps, cutting back blackthorn and wheelbarrowing gravel for paths. 

We will be making an awning to go on the apple store as well as mowing paths and general orchard management.

From 10.30 mainly weeding beds  

We will be weeding around the fruit trees.

We will be carrying out plant maintenance tasks including planting, watering and weeding.

10:30-3:30: Tasks include mowing the paths to improve access and removing invasive weeds such as Giant Hogweed. We also need to build some minibeast trap doors for when school groups visit.

10.30-3.00pm. We will be weeding,  planting and constructing a compost bin. We also need to carry out repairs on our poly beds.

General orchard maintenance, mowing, weeding under trees, creating beetle bank and preparation for a "minibeast"  area.

We will be helping to manage the nature area, clearing pathways and vegetation so the children can use the site for the rest of the year.
