We have set a date for Apple Day - Sunday 13th October, 12 noon till 4pm at The Orchard.
We will update the Apple Day page as plans develop, though you can expect the usual mix of activities, advice, juice and food (cakes and Wrapture Falapples)
This is the 20th Apple Day we have organised; the idea for our first one in 2000 was to get people together and see if anyone was interested in creating a community orchard. Well they were, and we did, and Apple Day has been an annual celebration of all things appley (and all locally grown fruit) every year since.
The majority of the efforts to organise and run Apple Day are undertaken by volunteers. We are looking for new volunteers to join the organising group and help on the day. There's not masses to do in advance, but we do need help in coordinating some of the activities. We are going to meet on Tuesday 6th August, 6 pm at the Record Cafe on North Parade. We hope you can come along to find out what's going on and to share ideas.
